Maes Gelateria is a locally owned and operated family business started by Cameron Maes and his father Earl Maes, opened in July of 2016. Coming from a family of six, delectable desserts have always been a family tradition. It is from this passion for amazing flavors and quality ingredients that Maes Gelateria was born. We make all of our own Gelato and Sorbet ourselves at our downtown location and are constantly coming up with savory new flavors.


Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream, and literally means frozen. Like ice cream, Gelato is made with a base of milk, cream, and sugar. It is generally lower in fat than other styles of ice cream, though. Gelato is more dense and rich than other ice creams. Come to Maes Gelateria to try Italy’s favorite frozen treat for yourself.
